When Wendy and I were trying to come up with a theme, we were trying to stay consistent with the theme of the wedding. Since we had just ordered our bridesmaids dresses, which are mint, we went from there. Wendy's super talented sister, Merilee Hennings, of EverAfter Events actually came up with "Mint To Be" and our theme was born!
For flowers, I stuck with a neutral palate, keeping a shabby-chic style. I used my all-time favorite feverfew (chamomile), scabiosa, spray roses, dahlias, and brown roses to incorporate the burlap.
I got a few DIY tips from Pinterest. In the below pic I just painted a bunch of glass mason jars and cheap vases all different shades of mint for the flowers. I painted the "our forevers go together" as just a decorative touch to set out.
As the guest entered into the main shower area, I wrote this out on one of my chalkboards. Above this sign I hung a banner I made which read "Miss to Mrs".
Michelle's fiance is Ryan Hansen. It somehow just came to me that we should have Hansen's soda. When I went to Sprouts to buy them, I couldn't believe they had cans that we mint! It was perfect and such a fun touch! Below is the soon-to-be Mrs. Hansen. Straws by Shop Sweet Lulu.
For favors, we found this idea from Martha Stewart weddings. So happy with how they turned out. All the paper was done by Invitation Factory.
Michelle had to pick her favorite garter from this stack of beauties below. So fun!
Our other shower activity was these date night cards. We had everyone come up with ideas of fun dates. We collected them all and put them in an album for Michelle. She picked her favorite date, which was build a fort in your living room, make smores, and watch a movie while cuddling! Cute huh? The favorite date also won a prize.
And here is our "Quirky Love" print sold in my Etsy shop.
Here is the set up as guests entered my kitchen. Anyone who follows my parties know how much I love Shop Sweet Lulu. You'll see them mentioned alot below! The paper lanterns, tissue balls, and stremaers were compliments of Sweet Lulu. The shower was at 1:00, so we had light appetizers for the ladies to snack on. We had hummus and crackers in these adorable snack cups from Sweet Lulu. The striped cups and spoons are also from Sweet Lulu. The are filled with the most amazing pasta salad from Waters Catering called Acini de Pepe. Such a hit!
Another painting I did just to add some fun into the decor.
Here is our beautiful bride next to a little "bride to be" banner I did for her seat while she opened presents.
SO happy with how our cake turned out. I saw this cake on Pinterest and thought it would be perfect. I've worked with the girls at CAKE here in San Diego so many times, I knew we just had to have them do this for me. It was delicious as always, banana truffle. YUM.
How could we have a "Mint To Be" shower without mint chip ice cream? We made miniature little sundaes with brownie bottoms. Check out these adorable spoons from Sweet Lulu!
