Drew at 18 months

My little Drew is now 18 months. It is hard to believe how fast time is flying by. Drew is such a sweet little girl. She is very attached to me and I still get that warm fuzzy feeling inside my heart when she says "mama" and leans in for a kiss making the "mmmmmwah" kiss sound. Precious moments.

Drew calls her BlaBla dolls her "babies". She usually will carry all of them around at once. She can barely see where she is going, but watching her scoop them all up and get situated on a chair is just so cute.
We recently started doing pigtails. Pigtails signify full-blown toddler to me. Hard to believe we're there! Here Drew is at her cousin Jack's super-hero birthday party. She got her very own "D" cape! So cute!
Here we are in our jammies with her favorite "baby".
Yes, she'll hate me for this picture later, but the chunky thighs are starting to thin out (yes, people, they were much bigger). Let's just say Drew has had the same troubles as me with skinny jeans!

I'm starting to plan Drew's 2nd birthday party...more to come on that planning soon!

Oh Pemberley!

I got a new bamboo bench from an estate sale this past weekend and whenever I bring something new home, the cats always have to investigate. If you own a cat, you know exactly what I mean.

Pemberley decided to do a little modeling session for me.

Hope you're having a great week!

My recent finds!

Over the last few months I've had some major scores at estate sales, craigslist, and flea markets. Some are still a work in progress, but I thought I'd share with you some of my favorite finds...

I got this lamp at the Pasadena flea market. I still need to find a new lamp shade, but I love it!

I got this awesome dresser and night stand (below) from Estate Sale Warehouse in Oceanside. Both are slightly damaged and need some fresh paint, but I love them! Micah's room is still a work in progress. My dad and I are working on a bed frame right now...more to come on that! Just trying to hunt down the perfect fabric! That green chair is from my Grandma's and that awesome blanket is from a thrift store in Palm Springs....$3!!!!

I was so super excited to find this next beauty.....

This antique faux bamboo dresser is a perfect addition to Drew's room!

The adorable little lemon picture I found at an estate sale in Rancho Bernardo for $5. It brings in all the yellow in her room perfectly! I also found this interesting ballerina painting at an estate sale in San Marcos for $1. It's so old that the edges are tearing off, but there was something quirky about it that I just really liked...especially her yellow ballerina slippers.

I got a pair of these chairs ($10 each) and these benches ($40) at the same Rancho Bernardo estate sale that I got the lemon picture. They are both happy in my garage right now, but I am waiting to find the perfect fabric to re-upholster these!

I have a lot of projects on my hands right now, and I can't wait to get started!

Baby Shower Basket for Gianna

I recently went to my friend Lisa's baby shower. She is expecting her first child, Gianna Elyse in February. By the way, how adorable is that name????Gianna's nursery colors are cream, grey, and pink. I love doing baby shower baskets and this one was no exception! Didn't it turn out cute?

I made sure to include some of my very favorite things. First up, our Quirky Love print, an organic bamboo blanket from Kicky Pants, Carter's newborn onesies, Aquaphor (a.k.a. miracle ointment), and a JellyCat bunny. Tucked in the back is a funny little book called Porn For New Moms. If you've never seen it, it's hilarious and Lisa is just the gal to appreciate this sort of thing! Can't wait to meet little baby G!

Casey & Jen's Video Sneak Peek

Hi all! Every once in awhile I get the honor to be both a guest and do the flowers for a wedding. My good friend Jen was married to Casey back in October. I was intimately involved in all the styling of this wedding, along with the fab Bre from Joyful Weddings & Events, and the beautiful bride herself.

It was an amazing wedding and I was so blessed to be a part of it. I have to say, this group of vendors was THE BEST! One vendor in particular was Modern 8 Films. Be sure to check out their blog post to watch a short video of the wedding day. It will be well worth your 16 minutes. I welled up all over again seeing my dear friends exchange vows and getting to hear Casey's amazing speech for the 2nd time.

All I can say is I wish I had known about these guys when I got married....dang! What a wonderful keepsake. Check out a few more pictures and a funny story about these two here and here! Let me know what you think of the video!

Newport Beach Wedding

Back in August, I had the opportunity to do Amanda & Stefan's wedding in Newport Beach. What a fun wedding to be a part of! There were so many lovely details that the bride put together with the help of the fabulous Bre from Joyful Weddings & Events.

These beautiful pictures are brought to you by Brynn Alyson Photography. Check her work out here. Don't miss that amazing cake by Sweet & Saucy Shop. Enjoy the pictures!

Congrats Amanda & Stefan! It was a pleasure to be a part of your wonderful day!

DIY Butterfly shadow box

Happy January 2012! We have been busy bees over here while we've been on vacation. I recently did this quick craft for fun and I love the way it turned out. Trust me, it's super easy, quick, and doesn't cost very much (depending on how much you have at home already).

What you need is a shadow box (Michael's or Aaron Brothers are good places. I got mine at Michael's 50% off), a butterfly hole punch (mine is Martha Stewart from Michael's, again, 50% off with a coupon), and scrapbook paper. I bought a few different kinds, as I wasn't sure which combo I'd like the best.

The shadow box came with adhesive velcro, so that made the project even easier. It is also great because I can re-use in the future without any damage to it (i.e. glue).

Wah-lah! Here is the finished project!

More pictures to come soon, as Drew's room has SO many new fun things! Stay tuned...
